I love this new look for Abbadon. You've replaced the silly looking faces on his armour with the warped iron spikes, making his armour look more threatening, and a lot heavier. I never really like the Abbadon model, but this makes a few subtle tweaks that improve it immeasurably.
Looks a bit WoW-ish; but I assume it's done on purpose, very impressive otherwise, even looks like it actually can be made into miniatures by twitching the proportions a bit. GW seems to be going for those kind of vidya-inspired designs lately anyway. But why give Abaddon a significantly smaller topknot? It's one of his main visual cues.
But more importantly, what's with the horus heresy logos beneath each picture? Those design seem to depict characters in their 41st-millenium appearance, that's curious.
I for one prefer the knot to be like this. The current topknot seems impractical. Not to mention, though it gave some character on the otherwise bald warmaster, it still looked downright silly.
All of 40k seems impractical and looks silly, it's a side-effect of grotesque aesthetics and shouldn't bother you if you generally like it. Trying to turn them down generally results in moderation and moderation is awful.
